‘The Leviathan of Parsonstown’

This is the first exhibition of printed photographs drawn from an ongoing body of work that was started back in 2013, although I didn’t know I was starting it then. It’s about the shaping of the world in all the scales and timeframes that suggests.
I’m interested in the scramble for knowledge and understanding, the extraction of precious metals and minerals, the construction of buildings and monuments and the idiosyncratic characters and stories that drive it all along. The work will almost certainly never be finished.
These photographs were made in Xillitla in Mexico, Les Baux-de-Provence in France, Göschenen in Switzerland and in various locations across Ireland and the UK.
